...across the room and out the door for fun and laughter....

Today is a very special day.  Bittersweet for me, but a special day nonetheless.  This is my sister Jean's first birthday in heaven.  I wonder if they celebrate birthdays there?  If they do, it will be the best one she has ever had!  I am going to try to make this a day of celebrating rather than a day of tears and sadness.  I did that all day yesterday.  I rode my motorbike for two hours crying most of the time.  Note to self:  Must not cry on motorbike!
I was telling a friend of mine one day that I don't have anything in my possession that belonged to Jean and I really wanted something like that.  She suggested that on her birthday I go shopping and find something that reminded me of her.  So today I am spending time with that friend and I will go shopping to see what I can come up with that reminds me of Jean!  Sounds like a good day to me!
Many times since November when Jean left us for heaven I have spent time looking at pictures of her.  I could never get through them without shedding many tears.  This morning I just looked at a few and the thing that struck me once again is that she is always laughing or smiling big smiles.  Today I want to concentrate on fun and laughter in memory of my dear sister with whom I shared so many good laughs!  Happy Birthday Jean!  I love you and miss you but I know I'm going to see you again to continue our love of laughter!

I think you were there last year for her birthday. I was just looking at the email she wrote in response to the birthday wishes she got from everyone last year. This is what she wrote:
"Hey kids ~ Thank-you for ALL the birthday wishes!! I'm having a Great Day! Even got one of my sisters to come out to celebrate with us!! To all of you who think the number matters? It Doesn't!!! Thanks again fam ~ love ya Jean"

I think she's probably having a great day this year too!

I like your friend's idea, especially since you and Auntie Jean liked to shop together too! I'd love to see what you find.

I'll have to post a picture of what I bought yesterday. I love it! Nothing extravagant. I thought it was a great idea too!
I was at Jean's birthday last year and we had a blast. We laughed so much and spent time in the city together. She was feeling good then and had even done some running!
