..across the room in search of a weekend....

I always thought weekends were for relaxation but this weekend happened so fast I'm not quite sure where it went!  It helps to add two to the mix and especially two lively noisy people.  I'm still not sure why  meals are such a hectic time but they just are.  Not only do they have to be made in a hurry they are eaten in a big hurry.  There is no lingering over a cup of coffee after dinner because some people take the phrase "eating and running" quite literally.  Rowan's usual comment to her Papa after eating is "Papa, you can get me!" as she takes off down the hallway.  I'm not sure which part was more fun....making Valentine cards, playing tinkertoys, sliding in the park, movies, music, or church.  I think maybe church was the most memorable.  Declan decided to join us for the church service rather than go to Sunday School.  We had a visiting speaker who had an accent Declan was not fond of.  During the sermon he turned to me to whisper "I think he has some speech issues" and a few minutes later "I am going to have such a headache when this is over"!   When the sermon was over and we were asked to stand for the final song he said loud enough for the people in front of us to hear "Well at least the talking part is over!"  Interestingly as we were heading to the car Papa said "That accent was so hard to listen to I think I've got a headache!"  Like Papa, like grandson?!
The tooth fairy had to visit this weekend and apparently our tooth fairy has more money than theirs does!  Go figure!

Yeah! He went to bed at night and soon came upstairs to show us his tooth. Next morning I saw all the bloody tissues in the waste basket beside the bed. He took it out himself! Tough little guy!
He really is quite hilarious to have in church. I love it when he takes notes while the sermon is being delivered! But not this Sunday! Not with those speech issues! Ha!

Trust my son to tell it like it is! Like Papa like Mom like son! I have a hard time with some accents too!

Declan has taken all his missing baby teeth out by himself. I don't know how that started but he just prefers to do it on his own. He is a tough cookie!

I love how Rowan just directs Papa to what she wants! Too funny! She is definatly a little princess!

Yes, but Papa isn't always "game". It's pretty hard to divert him from his after dinner tea!! He is the King of the Castle after all! Ha!
